I'm still in year 11 but considering what to do after high school. I thought the Bachelor of Information Technology - Games Design and Development looked interesting and like something I'd enjoy, however my boyfriend said it would be difficult to find a job, let alone good paying job in Australia, since the popular gaming companies are in other countries like America.

Would you agree with what he said? I don't want to study it then struggle finding a job.
Also when I say good pay, I mean above average.

edit: if it helps my general location is Sydney area and I don't think I will ever be moving far from there.

you can get many high paying jobs with Information Technology however, I'm not quite sure about games design specifically. A lot of Australian game companies have laid off workers horrendously in the last few years.
