...$150 for a tshirt?

I ask because I was meandering about Myer's designer section yesterday, scoffing to myself at the thought that someone would actually fork out that much money on clothes.

Personally, I wouldn't care whether Almighty God himself hand sewed the damn thing. I wouldn't fork out $150 for a flipping tshirt.

I paid $50 once. I felt a bit dirty afterwards, but it was a tshirt i'd really really wanted for a long long time.

in the magazines in the sunday telegraph and the like, they have fashion sections where they have 300 for a designer top sometimes and 600 for a skirt. Paying for a label nobody will see because it is on the tag is so pointless. $150 is overtly excessive for a piece of cloth with strategically positioned holes for arms.

for a guy, and if i was making alot of money, i'd consider it. only if it was really good and unique. other than that i'd pay $150 for a really good business shirt or similar for casual-smart look.

If the t-shirt was worth $150, then i'd pay $150 for it.

I have at least 5 t-shirts all bought for over $100.

Sheesh, before you all get on your high horses and - OMG NO WAY who'd pay that much for a t-shirt, what materialistic pricks - lets put it into perspective. I have a tee which i paid $190 for.
It's an awesome t-shirt, it fits me like a glove. It's something fairly simple, so it's not like it'll go out of fashion. But it's got detailing on it, so it's not like it's boring.

I have heaps of friends who buy $50 tees and wear them for one season. I've worn mine for about 4 years now. Who wins?

I think what you guys don't get is - you're not JUST paying for the tag. I could sew on a friggin tag. You're paying for the quality, because it's good enough to wear for years and years.
Psh if anyone here pays more than $150 for a formal dress, they have no right to be paying out $150 t-shirts.

Yes, only if it is worth it. I forked out $190 for a purple Hugo shirt, worth every cent.

or you could just wait until u find the $150 shirt at vinnies the next month for $5 cos the person who would buy it most likely a fashionista.

seriously.. thats really really lame and it shits me to tears that people care about all that shit and would pay for a label. those people have issues.

theres more material in a formal dress then here is in a shirt, hence why people prefer to pay more for a dress, then they do for a shirt

?? thats my answer/guess towards that statement.

if you got the money, go for it.... but if you dont earn that much, i think itd be a little foolish to spend such a large amount of money on something, 1 thing small and not too significant....

Well. I have this really nice stripey top I bought for $6. I've had it for about 2 years and still wear it often. It's great. So it's really not necessary to pay a bazillion dollars in order to satisfy yourself that what you've bought is "quality."

If I bought a shirt worth that much my parents would kill me!
My friends mum bought her a pair of jeans worth $350 so if I see something expensive I want and I get told "Its too expensive..." I mention that fact all the time...
Once I paid about $310 (or more) on a pair of shoes...!

think the most i've paid for an item of clothing is $100 each for a pair of lee jeans, diana ferraris, and royal elastics. (i got my tsubis for $40 - $60 at the sales last year)

i have friends with rich parents and rich boyfriends that have never worked a single day in their life, and would pay $300+ for a shirt and wear it once. one of my favourite skirts only cost $10 at paddys, and i've been wearing it since i finished the HSC. it's so comfy and i'll wear it til it falls apart. same goes for a volcom top i bought around the same time, for $50.

if i ever saw a shirt that i absolutely adored, then i would THINK about paying that amount of money for it. but its' completely out of the question at the moment because i'm BROKE. although i work, i spend most of the money on food, transport and uni stuff... i dont rely on parents or boyfriend.

Why not? I saw this kickass t-shirt in DJs not so long ago.. then I looked at the price tag. $950. That may be stretching it. If money was no big deal then I would. Totally. In every colour.
