Has decided to retire
my understanding is teh term wowser was coined to refer to anyone who was against social evils but the temperance movement (against drinking) from which the wowsers "came from" (not really but you know what I mean) were Protestant (but I dont think they were strictly Anglican)...more Baptist and Presbyterian I think (maybe Salvation Army??) but the other Church groups then joined by agreeing that social reform was needed due to the impact that social evils had on the family.Morning Glory said:
