If there are any people studying Xerxes out there, in all your research, how do you portray Xerxes? Do you think him a success or a failure?

With ancient, never come to a definite conclusion unless the question specifically states that you should. He is a success because....state reasons....e.g. he maintained an extensive empire during his twenty one year reign. He is a failure because....e.g. he failed to conquer Greece and they in turn would conquer the Persian empire during the reign of Darius III
