I can't understand my teacher so I tuned out and I don't know how to answer this question....

Calculate frequency of a lightwave of wavelength 500nm.

If some could explain it.. not nessacarily answer it.. just so i know what is going on lol... thanks

You most basic wave formula is:

Velocity = Frequency x Wavelength

Now, you know (i'm assuming) that the velocity of light is a constant which we round up to 3.0 x 10^8 m/s (300,000,000 m/s)

So rearanging that equation you get

f = v/w (velocity divided by wavelength)
= (300,000,000 m/s)/(500nm)

and remember that a nanometer = 1.0 x 10^-9 metres.
