yet another complex number question (1 Viewer)

Q: let A = 1+i and B = 2-i. Draw sketches and show the loci specified on the argand diagram by

lz-Al = lz-Bl



if someone could just tell me how to do and sketch this question it would be good.

A and B are 2 points, (1,1) and (2,-1) respectively


read the loci like this

"the points that represent z are the same distance from A and from B"

if you plot the points A and B you should be able to figure out what the locus is

And you should find that the locus is a line running through the midpoint of these two points A (1,1) and B (2, -1), which is (1.5, 0).

What is the gradient of the line? It will be perpendicular to the interval AB (in order for it to maintain an equal distance from A and B), and since the gradient of AB is -2, the gradient of the line (which is the locus) will be 1/2. Given that the line has a gradient of 1/2 and passes through (1.5, 0), you can determine its equation, and sketch it.
