I was all against the whole "Teen angst" issue being the theme behind my BOW, in fact, I'd do anything BUT that.

I had all these great ideas and they slowly started to be expelled as I experimented and found out I was crap at certain mediums.

I've always had this thing for drawing. My teacher thinks I'm awesome at it and I enjoy it. So I decided on drawing. Then my teacher comes up to me with this awesome idea, and I think "Great! This has a good concept, I can pull it off!"

I get started. A few months go by and I'm about a quater of the way in.. When one day...

BAM!!!

It hits me!

I'M DOING AN ARTWORK ABOUT TEEN ANGST!!!

So I stress and I gasp and I feel like throwing things around.

But then I realise.

"They like these kinds of things if they're done well"

So I calmed down.

So! The point to this thread. What themes/concepts do you think are too overdone? I obviously think the whole teen angst one is, and I HATE collages of ANY kind...

aaah teen angst.
i personally don't see what the big deal is, i mean they tell us to do stuff that we KNOW and for most teens our emo little mopey issues are all we know. Obviously i understand that they don't want to see " boohoo my boyfriend dumped me" for like every single artwork and they want more broader thinking, but still.
anyway i suggest you just stay away from the whole emo suicide, my life sucks, being a teen sucks i hate the world go die all of you die. depends on what its about like you could make it an emo person but link it to a massacre eg. the columbine incident a few years ago like the mind of a killer , exploring what would drive someone to go murder hundreds of people, i dunno just link it like that. obviously these are just random thoughts off the top of my head.

I guess it's based more around the emotions you experience as you go through Year 12...

But thanks for the ideas nonetheless.

P.S. You want to do the same course at the same Uni as me.
