What would you consider to be the 'emerging trends' in Home Networking/Communications over the past 1 - 3 years.

I've already thought of Wireless Networking and Voice over IP.

Speed. Integration/synchronisation/streaming.

Its getting faster and increasingly everything is connected to everything and syncronised/streaming.

E.g. the TV/media-centre + games console + smartphone + laptop +desktop + chumby + external HDD + printer + bluetooth headset + etc are all networked and busily synchronising or streaming data between each other.

What would you consider to be the 'emerging trends' in Home Networking/Communications over the past 1 - 3 years.

Look to the porn industry and see what technology they've pioneered, usually a sure sign of popular trends.
