Today was the first day back at school for me.. And i got some of my exam marks back... Here goes (btw, i feel terrible about my marks.. so please don't pull me down even more.. I knew i wouldn't do well because i had major mind blanks...)

Business = 58/70 highest mark = 66

English - Paper 1:
Section 1 (short answers) = 15/15
Section 2 (prose fiction) = 11/15 (i think i deservd more for this)
Section 3 (essay on Run Lola Run, Boulevard of Broken Dream and Donny Darko) = 14/15
Overall market for Paper 1 = 40/45 - i was relatively pleased with myself :)

Mathematics = 62% highest mark 72%
Ranking - 4/5:mad1:

So how did you all go?
Don't feel ashamed to post your marks up because i think i just humiliated myself with mine.. :burn:

Edit: I now know:
English - Paper 2 = 17/20
Biology - 58/75

I'm still awaiting my ancient history and legal results...

Ancient - 15/25
Legal - 51/70

Now i just have 5 months to try and improve my shitty exam scores. =[

No you're completely fucked. Just quit now while you're ahead.
/sarcasm

Just so you know, the median UAI is around 65 (ie. if you think you're smarter than half the grade, including all the dumbshits and the dropouts, then you'll get 65+)

Re: 回复: Re: 回复: Re: How did you go in your half yearlies?

i went so bad. i put way too much pressure on myself and kind of burnt out because of over-stressing.

chem - 51/70, don't know ranks, but heaps and heaps of people got 40 and below. the top few were staggered heaps, highest was 64, then 60 etc.
english - 28/45, really bad but my ranks for the other tasks bring me up significantly.
french - 83%, now fourth, should be first.
mx2 - 64%, just horrible in general.
mx1 - 70%, worse than mx2. maths is my best subject and i came top few on both last year ='[.

i hate year twelve. i don't deal well with stress =[[[[[.

i'm also shitting myself that i won't get 95 now. i'm screwed.

i thought the UAI was a ranking system, doesn't that mean the median would be be 50?

No because it takes into account the cohort from School Certificate (i.e. including those who would have dropped out after year ten)

oh yea.... sry didnt read his ranks LOL
Well, everyone I've spoken to says 50% marks in half-yearlies are quite reasonable - but then again, I live in the country, where no-one expects a UAI above 97 or so, and no-one gets all-rounders or generally awesome marks, by Sydney standards...

OMG your results sound just like mine - especially in Maths and English and I'm in the same position in physics (well similar) as you are in chem and business studies as you are in french (although i don't have my final score/rank yet - I can just tell).

nah, the UAI also counts people who sat the SC but not the HSC so that pushes the mean up.

I have only got back
physics (2nd)
maths (5th)
maths ext 1 (9th)
and chem 48%, yet this is still well above average 34% and puts me in 6th, I laughed because we all came out of that test commenting on how easy it was...
edit:SOR (19th) :(
