i want to do:
english advanced 2u
maths ex1/2 3u
physics 2u
economics 2u
legal studies 2u
japanese continuers 2u..

but i got some question about these subject..
in year 12, do maths ex2's work get really heavy?
wat kind of stuff is involve in physics and economics?

i have through about adding chemistry in the list..
but do the course require to remember the periodic table and the elements?!

any personal opinion about these subject? which subject u hate and which subject u love?

if there isnt enough ppl doing japanese next year,,
i will have to do it with OPEN HIGH SCHOOL..
can anyone tell me about wat is OPEN HIGH SCHOOL?!
is it harder without a teacher guide u through the course?!

For ME2, there is a heavy load of work as you need to do LOTS of work and questions to keep up.

For Chemistry, you do not need to remember the periodic table as it is given to you in the exams. Just have a general idea of what the elements and symbols are.

For Physics, it involves learning about Electricity, Space and Forces. It has quite easy/basic maths. The course involves more around understanding concepts.

Some people find ME1 easy, some people find ME1 hard. Unless you try the course yourself, you won't know if it's hard or not.

You don't need to mate. Just understand the concept and you'll know how to look for it on the Periodic table.

I'd say take out Legal Studies as Legal Studies is one of the worst scaling humanities. If you're dedicated enough you can easily ace Chemistry.

25/50 something like that..
im thinking about doing b law/b art..
maybe legel studies is needed..

There are no requirements for Law at Uni. I'm not too sure with Arts though. English Advanced is a must. Maximising your English mark/rank is very important.

It really depends on how you're finding maths now. A lot of the 2u maths course is revision of stuff you've done earlier. Some people think it's easier to do 4u maths than having to do two 2u subjects. but it's up to you really, depends on the person.

I quite like Physics. The good scaling is a pretty good bonus too.

I do business, but I'm not especially good at it. So I'll probably drop it.

I've been told by someone though, that some guy got a UAI of ... actually I can't remember but it was 99+ by doing the simplest subjects, and being good at them. So don't make your choices on scaling, or weird stuff like that. Being really good at the subjects you like that you find easy is probably better than struggling through a subject you're not good at and relying on scaling which may or may not pull you through in the end ...

well..im doing the stage 5.3 maths..
and i find it easy to understand..
and i have been top 3 constantly..
maybe 4u is the way that i want it.

but if i want to add chemistry.. which subject will u suggest me to drop of my list? [no japanese..becoz japanese is stuck with me]

Japanese Continuers you say? Well, it's a pretty decent course. If you love the subject, then great! Much more emphasis is placed on vocabulary and kanji (that's what I felt anyways).

I would not recommend taking up Japanese Extension. I don't do it, but from what my Japanese teacher has been saying, it is a particularly difficult course. Unless you have been to Japan or watch Japanese television/read manga pretty religiously, it will be hard.


For me, the sciences really depend on the type of teacher and who's teaching. Chemistry does not require you to remember the elements individually, although you will begin to start remembering certain details about them after using them a lot (Hydrogen has a molar mass of 1.008 ). You have a periodic table at all times.

Besides, if you do pick the wrong subjects, just try and change them for other ones. You never know. Maybe Legal Studies turns out to be absolutely atrocious or you never realised how much you hate Economics. Do it within the 1st term though or you would miss the chance.
