Just as long as Gallen isn't named in the side for the 3rd game, I'm pleased. I hope Wing plays.
Yeah not a huge Gallen fan myself either but for so many people heseems to be such a must have I concede there must be something i'm missing about him. In my opinion he is one of the games better backrowers but he's not in a clearcut group of the best players and he just seems to do a handfull of really stupid things each game that just make him not worth it. I'd much rather a Fitzgibbon or a Hindmarsh to Gallen.

My side would probably look something like this
1. Gidley
2.Lawrence
3. Morris
4. Lyon
5. Hayne
6. Barrett if available, if not Mullen
7. Hornby/Pearce(little confidence in either)
8. Fitzgibbon
9. Farah
10. Weyman
11. Hindmarsh
12. Creagh
13. O'donnell

14. Wing
15. Learoyd Lahrs
16. Poore
17. Watmough

I don't think there is a genuine appreciation of the defensive work Hindmarsh and Fiztgibbon did 03-06. I appreciate they aren't the physical forces they were back then by Johnson is the only one in QLD that comes close to the constant, robust tackling those two used to contribute.

On Hornby I think NSW haven't looked too bad considering Wallace has really utterly failed to succesfully spread the ball wide and give his five eight some genuine playmaking opportunities I think desperately someone who is a cool head who won't go Kimmorley on us and will pretty much allways get the basics right is a must. The fact that Hornby plays for the inform side and trains with Poore, Weyman and Creagh is a bonus.

I wouldn't drop Farah, he played well in origin one and has allways shown himself to be a class act for wests, an off game where he supposedly carried injury isnt enough to sack him. Plus Ennis is a wanker.

I can draw three possible conclusions about you, 1) you did not watch origin one, 2) You do not know which player Farah is 3) you have been lobotomised.

I'm leaning towards no2.

Lol gw in posting after farah's best game of the season. He had two chances in proving himself and he failed in both, he ain't an origin player.

I don't know what you think the role of a hooker is but in terms of getting the ball out of dummy half smoothly to first recievers with decent passing, drawing the markers to prevent them scooting out to tackle the first reciever, making a few decent runs, few decent kicks, popping into first reciever with some competency at times when Wing was at dummy half, tackling well, making few if any mistakes then Farah made the grade in origin one quite easilly.

He played poorly in origin II, what of it? There were probably about five New South Welshman whom you could say didn't have a negative impact in origin II. Cast your goldfish like memory back to the aftermath of origin I, there was no talk of Farah needing to go, everyone insisted the problem was that a) Bailey and Kite could not match Civonaceva and Price up front(who could) and that Wallace and Campese seemed to have no ball playing structure about them and failed to give the centres and wingers any opportunity to create something down the flanks.

I'm sure you don't have a reason that Farah didn't make the grade, i'm sure it's just the vibe of the game that convinces you he failed in origin one. If you just thought Ennis was playing too well not to get picked thats one thing but to say Farah failed in origin one is just looking for scapegoats.

What utter, insane lunacy has plagued this administration. I backed Barretts selection in origin II I admit, the series was still alive and I thought a senior, experienced playmaker admist all the young guns would sturdy the side abit and take alot of pressure off Wallace, Gidley and Farah. But when the series is lost, to play as the half and five eight too elder statesman, neither of which can hold a candle to their opposite number and neither of which are likely to be anywhere near up to origin standard in two years time is absurd.

Dead rubber games are the one time where experiments and blooding young talent is too be encouraged, instead Brett Kimmorely and Josh Perry are dug out of their respective graves for damage control when the team is allready behind.

Alex Tran for NSW Selector 2010.

It's a bit too late now to pick Kimmorely? Jesus christ, we needed him in game 1 not game 3. What is he going to benefit out of this? If NSW were really going to "build for the future", why not pick Soward, Mullen, Pearce or even keep Wallace in there (even though I can't stand him).

Wolfman in the squad again?
As Phil Gould would say, "No no no no no".

I don't think being on the same wavelength as NSW selectors equals awesome I think it equals retarded. What with the four series losses and all.

The partnership of Ennis and Kimmorley could play out well, but we really should have stuck with some of the youngsters in Game Two.

They could have gone with Wallace, Campesie or Mullen again!

NSW need more than a hooker. They need mongrel, Farah has none. In SOO mongrel is equally as important as talent.

Oh dear, a caveman from the Phil Gould college of chest thumping. How did Danny Buderus serve NSW? I don't recall him being one of the stink starts throughout his career.

Ennis has been playing better so he should be there.
The mongrel vs skill debate is rubbish though because at the moment Ennis has Farah for both, his service in Origin 2 was pathetic and is the main reason Wallace played so poor.
We now realise how valuable Bedsy was, playing hooker would easily be the toughest position to play making 40 odd tackles providing strong service isolating tired forwards, targetting weak edge defenders etc Farah is simply not good enough to cover the workload and his kicking and little show-and-go are ineffective at this level

When Buderus was around there were others to rev the team up. Now who's there to do it?

Are you serious? You think the problem is lack of enthusiasm? that if there were a few more punch ups Williams wouldn't have dropped the ball and Wallace would have passed better? The mongrel arguement is bollocks, QLD would have benefitted from someone pulling Tallis aside and telling him to stop being a dickhead, a talented player who undid so much good through sinbins and penalties.

You may argue Ennis is more skilled, I dissagree but that is actually an arguement. That QLD win because they've got boneheads like Crocker in their team and NSW don't (at any rate Gallen is as big a bonehead as you'll find in the nrl) is just bullshit. They win because they make less mistakes, Lockyer/Thurston Smith are brilliant passers/play readers/kickers and because on the whole they are bigger and faster.

Champion.... Farah is a class act. I would even rate him as good as, if not better than Cameron Smith. Aside from Hayne, Farah was NSW #2 best player in SOO #1.,

Great theory.... Yeah look at all of the QLD players that have "mongrel". Cameron Smith is essentially the same type of player as Farah and he has succeeded in origin... hasn't he?

You can't tell me guys like crocker haven't added something to struggling teams like the south sydney. Mongrel triggers enthusiasm and enthusiasm builds confidence which reflects through play. All these young blokes coming through get shocked by the standards of SOO and the intensity and required passion which many players these days lack.
