I know this has been posted before, but that was a long time ago. Well for the holidays we have been given a project from science. What we basically have to do is create an experiment. I have 1 plan in what experiment to do.

I have chosen my experiment lol... Its fill a bucket with 1litre of cold water, add some sort of detergent to it/powder..put in a thread there with 10cm line of a ballpoint pen...take a picture of the thread b4 u put it into the water then take a picture of it after it has been in the water for 1hr then after 2hrs then describe the results from those pictures...i will b having different brands to compare the results...any good?

I suggest doing the first one.

You could just pop the video on to WMM (windows movie maker) and then just add a slow mo effect a few times and you can make it like 8 times slower or something like that. Or ... you could just put it on your standard ... Windows Media Player or some other similar program and pop it on pause and scroll through the video clip until the ball's at it's highest. =)

1. I plan to pick 3-5 different balls (all of the same shape - round, and mass). im going to drop the balls from the same height, and on the same surface (concrete), and then i will record how high the different balls bounce on the same surface. I need some help. How could i record the height of the balls as i do not hav super slow mo eyes :L lol Could it be possible to record it on a camera and which program could i do to make it super slow mo. Could i also take multi-capture camera and take quick pictures of the balls bounce and record the highest bounce. Also which balls should i choose that are the same mass and obviously round.

2. I got this idea of the internet. Test the placebo affect. Give everyone a sugar pill and say it's a natural sleeping pill that will make them sleep better that you want to test the effects of. Tell them to take 2 at night before they go to bed.Now the next day, talk to them again and ask them if it had made them sleep better, or if there were any side affects you had noticed. How many participants should i have?

Which one would be easier to conduct and get me the marks l need?
I see a problem:
1) If they are the same shape, mass etc, how will you test different materials? since they will have different densities. Also, you need a slow motion capture device, which you can set up next to a cardboard black and white strip backing.

2) You'd need several people, and it would be hard to test.

Not to shoot you down, but try something easier.

Oh soz also different materials obviously///example a tennis ball is different material to a bouncy ball...i will also write the material to show which material is the best.
