Hi everyone,
I am trying to study for english and have stopped at a giant boulder blocking my progress. Now just recently i cracked the concept of a thesis and how we should all have one for our AOS. Now this is the boulder: I have my prescribed text and two related text and have come up with a thesis. I have laid down this argument clearly in my mind. BUT in the HSC/Trial do i need multiple? or do i go in with one? I'm just really stuck

the other thing is that my current thesis is not one based on "here is the question and tell me all about belonging" so its not actually that general. Oh man i just don't know what to do.

Thanks everyone, will never forget it

You're not stuck, you want reassurance. Go in with 2/3 opinions if it makes you feel better, you're coming off as a train wreck.

You're confusing me. Your thesis isn't based on an answer to a question, but it's not general either?

Oh man i just don't know what to do.
This is what you do:

Step 1: Have a complete understanding of your opinion. Including all perspectives, how people could argue against it, how you would counter those arguments. Remember why you think like that in the first place.

Step 2: Manipulate your texts to reflect your thesis.

Step 3: Write an essay based on this.

I don't think that's the response you wanted.

NB: Get yourself together. Learn the work, and get the marks. That's all there is to it.

Eat some confidence for dessert while you're at it.

Hey thanks for the reply man, Im sorry for coming off like that,
the question to my current thesis is deals with how indviduals might want to belong, but this is not always possible. Teachers and students were all talking about how in the hsc you might be lucky enough to be given a general question where i could apply that thesis OR a specific one which would render mine ineffective.

So i just wanted to know what to do, i mean look im confused too and im sorry for not being able to gather myself,

but nonetheless thanks for the reply. It really helped and I appreciate it. I mean it

all the best
