A requirement report summaries the needs of the business based on the findings of interviews and so on. It typically includes:
- A statement of the user requirements of the new system
- An explanation of how the new system will help the organisation achieve stated aims and objectives
- A brief overview of the proposed new system in terms of input, output, processing hardware and software.
The requirement report is used to develop feasible solutions to the company's problem.
A requirement report, also requires you to give some input (recommendation whether to leave the IS as is or to improve or develop a new IS). In other words it is asking you, is the IS feasible to meet the participants needs, how it will help to achieve your proposed objective/need and the hardware/software needed to fulfil the implementation of the IS.
