but what the hell is mathematics advanced in hsc????






seriously, some people dont know what the fuck the proper name of their subject is even after 2 years.
pretty sure Bored Of Studies lists them as:

General Mathematics
Mathematics
Mathematics Extension 1
Mathematics Extension 2

Being a maths genius has no significance whatsoever to your 'view on things'.

Anyways, I thought this thread was about trials and tips for maths?

These are my tips;
1. Stop blaming your hatred of maths for your failure
2. REALISTICALLY plan out where you want to be in relation to maths
3. Study as much as you need to get there-Trials, exercises from textbook, summaries
(3b. Come on to BOS and ask questions about problems you don't get)
4. If you are good at maths, come on to BOS to HELP people who need it instead of claiming superiority and dissing those who don't get 100% in maths

Did my 2 unit maths paper today, and I thought I'd be right after a billion timed maths trials and working through the answers carefully.

It was ok until about question 8, then BAM.

Impossible calculus question I've never seen before. Weirdo Geometry I've never seen before.

Would have been nice if they'd asked SOME of the ones I'd seen before.

But no.

At least everyone else claimed it was hard too. Maybe I won't bottom the subject.

This may sound stupid but I have a conspiracy theory about this.
You see, if they make the Trail exam soooooo F'king hard that no-one but Hawking's himself could ace the thing then everyone with a brain will start to think "Holy crap, i should study harder" then do so.
Then when they sit thier HSC they go into reading time and you hear like 15 people burst into a chorus of laghter at how easy the paper is because they failed their trail and spent 6 hours a day studying after that.
ITS A FREAKING CONSPIRACY!!!!!!!!!
