G'day all you sex machines out there,

Well if you people are not aware, I am a uni student studying at Mac Uni. Anyways, I have a fairly mental problem in that I really have lost all motivation and will power to complete my degree. I mean I have already successfully completed 2 years full time of uni work with pretty good marks (Credit- Distinction Range). I would like to express that I do believe I am a capable student... But my problem is that I really can't be fucked anymore. Do you guys know what I mean. Like I finish one of my degrees in a years time and such but I really have lost all discipline and motivation to strive to succeed.

I just can't really describe the feeling but its just a feeling like I have tried pretty hard for like 15 years straight (including high school) and just I can't be fucked no more and can't be bothered. I mean some of my friends do not attend uni and they're like having fun every day yet me the sadcunt is continuously stressing about uni work and studying when like sometimes I full study and try and get shitty marks. I don't know guys...

Please discuss and contribute if any of you guys feel the same way as me sometimes and what you do to counteract this shitty feeling when you get it.

Thanks niggazz

maybe try taking a semester or two off, to relax and get away from it all for a while then come back, if you want to

Do you actually like what ur studying?
I dont mean individual subjects, but overall, If you have no interest in what your studying it's going to be a big struggle
I hate to say it, but, if your not actually interested in learning, uni is not for you...
or if your just 'burntout', I suggest you work hard during the day at uni, then when you come home, put work out of ur mind and relax.

Thought of going on exchange if you haven't already and you can afford it?

Otherwise, if you do defer though, chances are that it will be even harder to get into the university routine again since you're finding it as painful as it is right now.

Take a gap year. This will give you a chance to clear your mind, and perhaps gain motivation for your last year. You can try doing seasonal work. E.g. going to Canada during the skiing period, and then coming back to Australia when the next winter begins.

I know how you feel OP, been at uni now since 2006, in my forth year and I cannot wait till the end of 2010. Hanging out with friends, thinking about what life will be like when I finish...taking a day offf...all these things help me

I had that exact same thing happen to me, except in high school. I had always had dreams, was reasonably hard working etc. but then I just stopped. It was too much.

I left school and moved to a different city and worked for six months or so, just being alone sort of, then I came back and everything worked out. If I were you I would make a change. Like take six months of, move somewhere new and do something different for a bit. Then come back.

You need change. If you can last out this semester then just go overseas for a few months at Christmas, go work somewhere for a bit. Then maybe you will feel like you can tackle another year when you come back.

15 years? what does another 1 year mean? Just complete it!

Well, We do spend most of our lives studying but i guess you do come to a point where you just can't take it no more..
Like some have mentioned, a break sounds good.

all the best with your decision
