This teacher strike on Wednesday is screwing whether I have tutorials or not....
:S
the teacher strikes not on (i think)

"Dear students,

You may be aware that there will be a National Day of Action
at Australian universities on Wednesday 16 September.

This email is to assure you that UNSW will be operating as normal
on that date and we are hopeful that most classes will go ahead.
Your lecturer will advise you if he or she is unable to teach that day.

If you have a query about any of your classes scheduled for
Wednesday 16th September, I encourage you to contact your lecturer
or course/program coordinator.

Kind regards

Professor Joan Cooper
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) and Registrar"

Well, I got an email from one of my lecturers saying that one lecture is not on. However, it was only tonight I was browsing through 'Discussions' threads for my other subjects only to find my lazy ass tutor didn't bother emailing but using the 'Discussions' instead. Now I don't know for my other 2 subjects...

I'm sick and tired of following up after teachers. No wonder they're underpaid.

I need about 5 years off

"Late submissions will incur a penalty of 3% per day off the maximum marks available for that assignment" - does this mean my assignment gets capped at 97%, then 94%, etc, or do they actually take 3% off my mark? Coz if the former, which is my interpretation, sweet!

3% is pretty awesome, most business classes have 10%/day and I seem to remember having a LEGT class having 25%/day

For my arts course it says late submissions will incur a 1% penalty for every day it is late for the rest of your course.

OMG does this mean my whole entire 3 yr subject course or
my semester
or for the year?

wtf

Was that a serious question? Or were you trying to make a point?

It was a serious question. I think I'll contact my faculty tomorrow. It's just that my subject is a bit arbitrary with it's course requirements.

if you havnt received any info, then assume classes are still running.

eg enthused told me today that a lecture/tute of hers isnt running tomorrow morning.
so yea, i'd assume everything is as per usual unless you've been told otherwise.
