An English man who was jailed for killing his wife has won $500,000 in the country's National Lottery draw.
Michael Edgar stabbed his wife Deborah, 27, to death after she had taunted him at a disco in 1986, The Sun newpaper reports.
The brutal attack happnened in front of the couple's babysitter in their home in Essex, eastern England.
Mr Edgar, who was 30 at the time, denied he had murdered his wife but pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of dimished responsibility.
He was sentenced to three years in jail with the judge taking into consideration his remorse.
Edgar, who is now re-married and has four children, said he was over the moon with the win.
"We don't have money, it's not a fortune, but it's nice," The Sun quoted him as saying.
"It's not enough to call it a day as I have got four kids."
