around what should you be getting for a band 6?
i heard its like 96+/120.
and i just practised a past hsc paper and got 99/120 but when i worked out that percentage its only low 80's. even with scaling, is it possible that could be a band 6?

thats a great result, it would usually be band 6 (a decent one too) =)
So your saying if i leave out Q9/10 and get full marks in 1-8 id get a scaled mark of band 6? I highly doubt that. 24 marks gone..

pretty much, if you can get full marks on 1-8 you must be pretty good already. I know i didn't get full marks from q1-8 and i got a HSC mark of 98.
i guess it also depends on the difficulty of the exam, but around 100 is a pretty good mark i say.

There will always be an odd question from 1-8 that i will drop marks. Generally i do pull at least 100/120. I just stuff up question 10's mainly when i fail to see what is being asked lol. Thanks for the vote of confidence timothy. All the best.
