Band 6.low 80s for a band 5 or 6?
Chem scales slightly better than physics, so if physics is ~83 then chem would be 81-82How about Chemistry?
I don't think you have the right idea about scaling and ATAR calculation..hmm so if i got a 80 in bio that would be decent?
whats a decent mark in bio so it doesn't affect your ATAR?
booxxxxxx hunttterrrrrr phy>chem in terms of scalingBio would be mid 80's physics 82-83 chem 80-81. Seriously just do your best dont waste time worrying about it. You will get a great result nevertheless.
+1Everyone in this thread has got it all wrong.
Physics = 82~ for band 6. This is aligning people, not scaling.
This does not mean Chem and Eco will have lower cutoffs just 'cause they scale better.
I repeat: This is not scaling
Hence you cannot measure one subject's cutoffs to another
phys>chem>eco
the differences in scaling here are very small so it wnt effect it much
phys b6 ~82/83 but has been as low as 78 as in 2005
chem around the same, also been around 78
bio i'm not sure
Thanks Anna.+1
For chem, the cut off floats around 78-very low 80s for the band 6 cut off.
For physics, very low 80s but it has been around 78 for band 6.
No idea for bio.
Also, scaling wise, Shady is right:
It varies year to year. Like youngminii said, this ain't scaling thread =w=;;booxxxxxx hunttterrrrrr phy>chem in terms of scaling
No worriesThanks Anna.
Nope, your aligned mark is the HSC exam mark they give you after adjusting your raw exam mark. This is probably a stupid question, but is your aligned mark based on your assesment mark?
