Just a question which is in part related to Ancient History,

Say one was to achieve first in the state in Ancient History, what would they then expect their scaled mark to be when the results are released?

Also what reward do you recieve for coming 1st in the state?

Thanks in advance

I think the aligned mark is what you are referring to, but both the aligned mark and scaled mark would most probably be 100. Table A3 from 2008 says the maximum HSC mark out of 50 was 50, and it's equilivent was 49.8 as a scaled mark, i.e. 99.6% which would round up to 100. I have no idea if 100 raw is required for 100 aligned though. But getting 100 does not guarntee that you will be first in the state. Someone else in these forums got 100 a few years ago and got 3rd. I am pretty sure that you get nothing except a certificate, a handshake from the premier and the ability to boast.

What the BoS does is align, and then scale. So even if you get 99.5 aligned, it may be scaled to 100 - that being your HSC mark.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

incorrect

UAC doesnt even look @ aligned marks

BoS aligns raw marks

UAC scales raw marks

two completely independent processes
