Hello Jess,

I rang UWS Parra just to enquire over reserving a place for myself at camp (since I was very paranoid about missing out a place) and according to them there will be a letter sent out soon which lists the details of how to book and when** it is etc.

Although, if you're still unsure you should just call the law faculty on the campus your going to and just enquire there. Since I called they asked for my name and reserved me on their list (but I was the first.) So I'd advise that since you at least don't have to stress about whether you'll have a place or not (there's only 80 or something places available?)

Hope that helps! ;)

**The date I have for the camp is the 23-24 of Feb but if you can't make it there's a law orientation day on the Friday

My parents told me i can't go because there will be mature aged students there who might try to take advantage of me.
WTF.
Oh well..atleast i don't have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night to some creeper lurking in the shadows O_O

I went last year... I promise there were very few mature age students present. Also rooms were divided by gender :)
It's a good experience, as the dean of law visits so it's interesting to hear from him. Also there are a bunch of guest speakers, you get the opportunity to join the law students association, and mooting :)

I actually would have liked to go.
My parents are just a tad overprotective of me =(
I hope everyone who goes has fun though.

Posted at exactly the same time! Damn!

This might sound like a stupid question, but is law camp the only opportunity we will have to join the law students association and mooting etc etc and so forth?

Mooting happens at the law camp (one of the more fun activities!). Pretty sure you can join the ACTUAL moot competition team once you've finished a lot of the basic subjects (Introduction to Law, Law Foundations, Criminal, Torts, Criminal and Constitutional.... or something like that).
You can always joing the Law Students Association later, but the camp is a good chance to socialise with other people who will be in your classes, meet some of the lecturers, older students, past students who have gone on to be really successful, and that sort of thing :)

Ugh, I don't think I'm going to the camp either. Lame! Do any post-camp-goers happen to know how many people attend the camp? Also, has the form for the camp come out yet (I haven't recieved it yet)?

I'm hoping everyone doesn't go and come back as super amigos... forcing me to become a social recluse for the next 5 years... yikes!

Haha! I kind of know what you mean... the people not going to the camp should get together, causing a split for the next 5 years, between the campers and non-campers.
