Need Help and Advice please D: MDP (1 Viewer)

ah stressed is an understatement for me right now

the first part of my MDP folio is due next friday and i cant decided on my major project

at first i was going to do a book similar to a manga but my teacher said it didnt meet the critera, but i dont understand that seeing as someone else in my class gets to do a Collage

he says my idea wont solve a problem but i was thinking on basing it on issues faced by teens...

so then after that i said what if i made an interactive game, but in the end there was already products avaliable the same as what i was going to do...

now im thinking a dress made of recycled materials... but i know thats been overdone like crazy

i still want to do the book or even an animation as its one of my hobbies and i know i can focus on it, everything else im sure im going to put off

does anyone know what i should do, is it okay to do a book or animation, will it get me good marks?

A word of advice do something that you are confident with, have skills in and would find interesting. There is no point trying to do something that is way out of your league just because your teacher told you so. As if you were to do the animation/video you could debate the point that the need to is provide a source of entertainment for the technological youth of today's society. Also, anyway it is not really marked upon so much the actual project, but more so your actual folio and how you write up the different components. It is more unique and outside the square than what the other two ideas are and at the end of the day marker's are looking for original ideas rather than marking a similar project 50 odd times. If you were to create the animation/video, you could even include a tutorial to highlight what designer's in the real world would do to improve other's skills. By including a tutorial it addresses the need of extra technological support/ training due to a lack of skills in the area. It is a good idea to do this as it enhances the edge upon your project as the marker's can actually visually see the steps that you undertook to ascertain a quality solution to the completion of your MDP. You could easily use a program called Adobe Captive to do this in-- it's reasonably simple to use; (I used this when constructing my MDP, also including a written guide as well with screen dumps).
