Hey i was wondering what would be the BEST text book or exercise book that could really help you in advanced English. Something that would give you heaps of practice at recognizing techniques in different texts, and wat they indicate, and any other useful stuff. With some answers as well. THanks

No need for textbooks for English. Just the text, and maybe a study guide (those that are text-specific).

As for exercise books? Er....the lined sort are awesome.

Get one of those science-type books that alternate between lined and blank pages. That way if, I mean "when", you get bored of the English syllabus you can start drawing a lovely picture on the next page. Think of it, on one page you could be taking notes about the imagery evident in some self-important poem while on the next page you could be working on a picture of a cow enjoying a delicious piece of cake.

That's one sure-fire way to keep you interested.
