how do you honestly do this?! its drivin me crazy

2 Sec 45 degrees MINUS (-) cosec 30 degrees

this is what ive done so far...

2 X 1 / root 2 - 2 / 1

= 2 / root 2 - 2 / 1

what do i do next?, do i multiply the 2 / root 2 by root 2 (nom and demon)?

so is it like 2 root 2 / 2 - 4/ 2
= -2 root 2 /2 which is WRONG!!

Sec is the reciprocal of cos.
So Sec45 is 1/cos45
=1 divided by 1/root2
=root 2

hey, I don't know why but I'm just a tad confused between the step of 4/root2 - 2 and how its changed to -2 + 2root2

hey people...:)

I got another Qs i thought i might ask:

tan 30 degrees = 2 / p which = 1 / root 3

how do you finish that off?

What the hell. It's just twice so p must be 2root3

You can just solve that equation.
2/p=1/root3
=2root3=p

Edit: The what the hell part means: is that a trick question?

u got it right, thank you. Its actually a diagram of a triangle and u have to find the EXACT value of a side which is "p". I already did the first part to make the question simpler and i think it would be pretty hard to draw a diagram here.
