tbh unless they really care about their comp, most people will have a bunch of trojan, it is unlikely to be adversely affecting your laptop

Also try alt + ctrl + del and see how much RAM is being utilised (in the middle down the bottom of the window).

Get a few DVD's
Copy all your important data onto them
Then reinstall windows.

Copy everything back
If symptoms persist, please consult a hardware specialist.

Basically just put in windows disk and at startup select CD drive and reinstall windows.

It's not hard but I would recommend backing up all the important stuff first (if it's the solution you wanna roll with).

You can reinstall the Operating System without losing your old files but it is still best to backup just incase.
