Long struggling Australian businesses are about to take a massive hit as the Government introduces paid parental leave. Not only will this make staff management a nightmare for small businesses, it will provide a huge disincentive for hiring women, probably leaving them worse off on average than before.

The cost to the taxpayer is also ridiculous, considering the amount of free money we already pour into the endless plasma-buying black hole called the fucking "baby bonus".

This is a disaster for business and the economy, and yet another step towards socialism for this country. Enjoy pouring your tax dollars into supporting white trash pumping out more jaydens and braydens, guys.
who says white people will be the only ones? wtf is with the reverse racism on this site

Your crazy logic suggests that an additional $10260 is all it takes to get women to start having kids, when the cost of raising a child is $120000 absolute minimum

This policy will be good for small business - who will be able to attract young female workers despite their inability to provide maternity leave in workplace agreements
Are you actually retarded?

Australia already has one of the highest income taxes in the world.

The government will continue to jack up taxes to fund the welfare scam.

Make life harder for the productive and give it to the unproductive.

^ Yeah, because there are enough employment opportunities for everyone.

EDIT: I'm on Youth Allowance + Rent Assistance. If anything it's not enough. It's barely enough to stay alive and pay rent. Fuck off.

More welfare = Higher taxes = More tax burdens on small business = Less Jobs

Connect the dots genius

^ I support redistribution of wealth. I'm not supporting the myth of the free lunch. The fact is that without welfare, in a capitalist system, people would simply starve or commit crime because there is no other option.

Hey genius, how about we tax the billionaires and take some of our wealth back?

Yes there are options.

Get a job and get a savings account.

^ There is no work available, and this is why most people are on welfare.
yeah guys come on, I deserve money from billionaires because they have so much to go around and I somehow contributed to their wealth from being alive and therefore they're just hoarding the money they owe me for doing nothing

Yeah I know, and I'd like to work as well but at the end of the day there isn't any available (especially in my area). That's the point I was making.
