For investing in the stockmarket

your initial purchase of share of a certain company must be equal to or greater than $500

So your not far off, but at this range brokerage($19.95 @ comsec) kills your profits.

Investing $500 requires a 4% increase in share price to break even

Well he's got a point, why put money into something you don't understand. Do you understand the stock you're putting your money into? Do you even know what profit they did last year?

Eh, Stock is the HIGHEST return investment currently for people...

No point investing with only 500 in the stock market... Minimum is roughly 10000 to 20000 dollar to gain good return.

Just go put the money in the NAB UBank or something.

Return rates reflect risk . . .
Yes that true but OP is asking for the highest return investment... unless he willing to risk it at casino for abnormal profit.

That why i suggested him to save it in the bank... low return and low risk -.-

Anyway stockmarket = casino... unless you have connection.

Umm there would definitely be some OTC derivatives out there with a higher yield if we are ignoring risk

Lol tryhard.
Just dont like it when people make statements such as stockmarket is eqivelant to gambling.

Although to many people getting blind returns/losses, not noing what they are doing, it seems as though it is gambling.

For those of us who put hours of hardwork in per week and recieve a payout, it hurts for it to be called gambling

I wasn't trying to offend you. I was merely pointing out how unnecessary it was to agree with something by 9.99x10^63.

But in essence, the stockmarket is nothing like gambling.
