Hey, I understand that Macquarie is pretty big on history, I think they're the only uni that offers undergraduate courses on Egypt & the Near East. However I was browsing the course list and it appears that Macq lacks any courses on the schools of history writing.

I see Sydney Uni offers courses on ancient and modern historiography and such schools as feminism to Marxism. Does Macquarie offer anything on history writing or historiography?

Thanks.

They do offer courses, but rather than concentrate on individual schools, a lot of it is done in the context of something else, ie, Women and Gender in the Ancient World (looks at feminist/revisionist concepts of many ancient texts/depictions/plays etc), or as part of the assignment/course (investigating the historiographical issues surrounding the use of popular culture vs folk culture).

Personally, I've found this a lot less...high school and more helpful as you actually get to analyse and read the texts in the context of their histories. Why they came about, etc. It doesn't treat them as existing as these vacuums within history or whatnot.
