Okay here's my ranks for half yearlies:

Physics - rank 1 / 30ish
Chemistry - rank 5-6 / 40ish
English - rank 31 / 60ish
3u - rank 15? / 20ish
2u - rank 11? / 40ish
SOR - rank 20-30 / 40ish
Music - rank 8-9 / 13ish

My term 1 assessment ranks:

Physics - rank 1
Chemistry - rank 2
English - first task: rank bottom 5. second task: rank 13
3u - first task: bottom 5 (failed). second task: rank 15ish
2u - first task: rank 10-20. second task: rank 10-20
SOR - rank 2
Music - rank 5

My ATAR goal is 95+. My school rank is 92.

I was hoping to drop music after my half yearlies, but since I got a poor mark overall, I think I will stay for that back up. Which of the 10 units do you think will count towards my ATAR?

and do you think I will achieve ATAR of 95+?

btw. I could have got 90% for physics, chemistry and 2u. It was a stupid mistake overall. 3u I could have got over mark of 50 and boost my rank up by about 5. SOR and English I thought I'd do well... I'm reasonably prepared for the essays for HSC and trials.

I don't think music will count.

I think you will possibly get a 95+ ATAR, but improving your maths rank would make it more certain.

that's why i dont do 12 units. in the back of your mind, you always think you have a back-up subject as a safety net and you end up not spend enough time on each of the subject. That is just excuses:

having said that, just try harder next time and im sure you will get a better result.

back to the question, yes i think you can achieve 95+ and yes i think you should drop music.

But the thing is, I am good at performance and I have a chance of doing good in my performance, but not my aural (in fact I can study a bit and bull sht it in the exam).

For math's I skipped a question because I was underestimating the paper for its easiness. 3Unit needs work, that's why I'm spending more time studying this term for 3 unit math.

Do you guys know approximately how much I have to get for music for it to count towards my ATAR? if it's really high that I have to get, I might drop it. I haven't spent anytime studying for music in year 12 (literally 0 hrs). For performance I want to play canon rock, but I havne't even chose my other 2 pieces that I wish to play....

I haven't been practicing guitar much lately.... Say I got a high band 4 or low band 5 for the aural section... and if I got a band 6 in the performance (low band 6). Would it contribute to my ATAR??? cos I heard music scales shit and getting a band 6 in it is equivalent to getting a band 4 in physics
