You have to get your 9 preferences in by that date. Those 9 can be used for all rounds. However after offers are released for first round, you can change them if you didn't get in, same with second, third, main, whatever round.

ATAR is released around 15-20th december? and you have up until the 5th or 6th of January to change your preference for the Main Round offers.

Basically you need to get your preferences in by the 30th of Sept (just be registered in the UAC system), however you can change them whenever you want after that, provided you change them before the cut off date for each round.

Yep, I didn't change mine, but yeah you can change before the cut off for the round

I am pretty sure my preferences won't change to much

Probably will be a mixture of economics and commerces courses in different uni's

Thats what I had too! but it was funny how UTS (my current degree was first) followed by other degrees with higher cut offs, lol
(comm @ UNSW, Eco @ UNSW, Comm @ USYD, Finance or something at MAQ) most of these were lower preferences with higher cut offs
