It's not a manner of efficiency, it boils down to an exercise of morality. Do you think that the State should have the power to murder people because it thinks it is right to do so? but the answer wud be no to both questions. what i've been trying to say is that this person deserves to die whether some1 kills him or not doesnt really affect me in anyway

maybe if there's an extensive appeals process

just scrap the appeals process and kill people (how does it degrade our humanity i dont get it) but raise the burden of proof so high that only in times when we're 100% sure they did it do we get to kill them

i'd be in favour of public executions again
