Probably integration and differentiation

Doing first year engineering, we hardly use 3U when it's assumed knowledge.

Also BIT isn't really maths heavy so Mathematics would be sufficient

No Maths is required, allow me to quote one of the people in charge of our course during a lecture: "assumed knowledge is not required. it is only there because it is a requirement of the university."

I just spoke to a UTS graduate of a different course, and they said you still need maths for BIT course, but UTS maths is not as intense as UNSW or Usyd.

Does it depend on the electives you choose, because I was reading the different electives and I think data mining has some linear algebra and other areas of probability maths involved. etc, any other subjects have maths?

If one of your later units have linear algebra you most likely will have to do a Maths unit first year.

Doesn't say it though for I.T, just says core topics etc.
