Assuming that a normal person (not a 99.9x UAI freak like you guys) didn't do year 11/12 maths, would they be able to pass b. commerce - accounting in these unis? (i did do general maths, but this was almost 3 years ago)

I think I will be offered a place in USYD/UNSW this year, but I desperately need some advice.

Thanks.

Yeah but isn't there harder maths e.g antiderivatives, logarithms, calculus etc etc in commerce?

yes there is, in shit like statistics/actuarial

otherwise, the log, e, brackets, ^ + normal buttons on your scientific calculator should be enough

You want to do Commerce - Accounting. Tell me, do they use antiderivatives, logs, calculus in accounting? I don't think so.

Accounting math isn't challenging - it's more a case of figuring out the theory and formulae behind the calculations. The actual calculations are as others in this thread have said - simple with a calculator.

Financial math is a bit harder and will require some knowledge of logs etc.

In first year finance and I'm pretty sure they'll be covered in financial management (second year subject).
