Hello,

Well I have been reading through some past year 12 exams, and the times included are 2 hours for english, for example.

I mean is this even enough time?

I found today doing my pre lims I was writing very quickly and i even timed myself.

So what are some tips and by the way, to add, do extension courses scale you higher?

Depends on the exam and the individual sitting for it, but generally speaking I found we had enough time in my subjects except maybe english. Generally speaking, for extension subjects, most scale very well (MX1, MX2, and to a lesser extent EE1, EE2 and history extension). However, I'm not to sure about language and other extensions.

Hmmm thankyou.

Because I was thinking of maybe taking up history extension however I always think

-too much work load
-difficult
-um, extra stress.

And that is if I get into it anyway by my teacher.

Oh and also I feel extremely worried lately and I don't know how to stop it! I have been thinking and I really want to aim high in yr 12 and hopefully achieve an atar of 85 and above, more likely 90 and above. I think I can do it...

And I have been using the atar calculator and estimating what would happen if i achieved so and so, and I realised I need to atleast achieve 85 and above in HSC exams in order to achieve a very high atar! Unless other assignments count aswell?

For the HSC, your internal assessments count for 50% and the final exams for 50%.

Every subject has enough time imo. English is a little close, but very do-able with 40 min per section.

Oh! So in order to achieve a high atar what estimate marks would I need to achieve in my subjects? So far this year I have achieved in the 80's and 90's range and at times, high 70's.

Except for general maths, which I will be dropping anyway.

By the way do my subjects "scale" well?

Society and Culture(heard this is bad scaling however I do really well in it too)
Studies of Religion (heard that's bad scaling, however I do really well in it)

Its not your raw percentages which count but your rankings. Coming first with 60% is better than coming 5th in a subject with 80% in the HSC. Generally speaking, your subjects scale average (some are a bit below average, some above and one dead average.)
