Just saw on Facebook two people talking about the UNSW Co-op Scholarship and they both listed their dad as one of their referees

Is this fine? Or will the people who read their application be like wtf

as if the dad is going to say "my kid is a little shit head"
The reference becomes more bias and therefore less reliable.

Not always the case. I remember in one dentistry application (JCU/CSU), you can put down a relative whom is in a health profession as a referee.

Unless it explicitly states no relatives, then yes you can put it down.

I didn't receive that email, are you sure? Although I've already submitted my application.

Haha maybe less people applied this year so they extended it.

Normally you wouldn't put parents as refs, maybe they couldn't find anyone.

Yeah, putting your parents as referees doesn't sound like the greatest of ideas. It's okay if you're super super desperate, I suppose.

Speaking of desperate - I have no idea where my yr11 half-yearly report is and I'm flipping the fuck out.
