should i write:

"alternate segment theorem"

or

"the angle between a tangent and a chord is equal to the angle subtended by that chord to the circumference in the alternate segment"

and other shit like that

"alternate segment theorem" should be OK - it's short and sweet. I know it is annoying to cite the reason in a 2-line shit.

my teacher said that it depends on how the question is written. if it says explain why blah blah then you have to recite the entire statement BUT if it says show then you can simply say alternate angle theorem,

Just write the damn thing if you're gonna do it like that.
The whole point is to get the theorem down whilst saving time. Writing the whole thing defeats the purpose of the idea, unless you have a better way of getting it across. And if it comes across in MX2, yes, a whole 10 seconds is vital.

I write it as "Alternate segment theorem" or "Angle between tangent and chord".

Whenever a question asks to prove a certain theorem, i always write the last line as the full reason, "Hence, the angle between the tangent and chord is equal to the angle subtended by that chord to the circumference in the alternate segment".

I received a sheet earlier in the year from my maths teacher which was a list of MANSW approved proofs so i use all the proofs from it.

I do

(^ in the alternate segment)... it's an actual way of writing it.
