I am absolutely terrible at chemistry(30% in all assessment tasks and exams), should I drop to senior science?

Yes, I think you should be doing senior science if you were not coping with chemistry in year 11.

Yes, I think you should drop to Senior Science. Since I failed Physics (~40%) and Chemistry (~35%) in Year 11, I just dropped both of them yesterday to Senior Science. It's not that I found Physics and Chemistry difficult, but I was just not motivated to pay attention in class and to do homework :/ Therefore, I had been so determined to withdraw from them in Year 12 and pick Senior Science in which I am very confident to receive a Band 6 without any hard work :p

Any particular reason you are picking up senior instead of just dropping chem? Is it to have 2u safety net for other subjects?

Not enough units if I drop chem.
But I'm not gonna drop it.. Ive started tutoring and I feel really confident in chem now...could even say I like it.

What I hear from my mates is that in Senior Science all they do is pratically cook bacon and egg sandwiches every lesson and learn jackshit.

We got no bacon, but I've done jackshit work and recieved a semester two mark of 93. If you have a half decent memory and common sense you'll do fine in this subject. Believe me when I say that a 90 in senior science is much more impressive than a 50 in chem, so if you marks fail to improve then you should definatly drop to senior science.

incorrect: making mayonnaise and hollandaise sauce is a mandatory practical and assessable in the HSC examination (no joke 4 marks was on the recipes for Hollandaise and Mayonnaise)

excellent subject imo ;)

Hey, just wondering...

are you allowed to do Senior Science but also do another science course like Biology, Chemistry and/or PHysics along with it??

Cos my school says that youre not allowed to do a SCIENCE course with senior science...

Sendoh - In Year 12 you are allowed to. I.e., if you do phys and chem, you can drop one of them and take up senior science

However, in preliminary you cannot do senior science + other sciences
