Simon Sheikh (head of GetUp) was married to his wife who is the head of the AYCC on Saturday in order to commemorate the carbon tax.

I am not even fucking joking.

Sheikh believes in marriage? What a patriarchal old fart.

I am a part of the overwhelming majority of Australians who in 2009 sent out very clear messages to the leadership of the Liberal Party: Get that emissions trading scheme passed. Many of us have since succumbed to the belligerent invective of which we were subjected to from Jones, Bolt, Murdoch and the rest of the hate media but those of us who never gave up the fight are proud to now be standing up for the silent majority of Australians who believe in action against climate change, who believe in putting a price on carbon and who believe in a sustainable future.
I absolutely agree, the 2007 election which bought Labor to power was a mandate on doing action to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Don't label Andrew Bolt as the hate media though.

Andrew Bolt is a good guy. While I don't always agree with all of his opinions, he makes sense on most issues and I can see where he is coming from.

Kevin 07 Recession 08
Kevin Rudd had nothing to do with the recession, if John Howard was prime minister Australia would have still experienced the down turn in the economy. There was a global financial economic crisis that crippled world economies in 2008 due to the 1% of wealthy corporations (including banks that stemmed the sub prime mortgage crisis that started it all). Economics 101.

There was an overwhelming majority in 2007. In 2010 enough support was asatained to carry through that momentum (through both the Labor voting and Green voting party bases and preferences as well as the Independents representing their electorates by delivering the best stable government possible).

I agree. Gillard has improved significantly over the past 3 months, her position as Labor leader is no longer untenable.
No. Gillard is shit. The whole labour government is shit. Hell the entire goverment is shit..lets get rid of everyone and start fresh.
No point in keeping those old backward thinking bags running the show.

EDIT: and no cheese cheese...Andrew Bolt is shit too..what a racist pig he is. Fuck. Hasn;t he ever heard of the notion of institutionalised inequality?

Given you can't even spell Labor correctly, you straight off come off as as being unintelligent and/or blindsided in this discussion. The Labor government does have some problems, although the Liberal party have more problems and old wood lining their front benches (Bronwyn Bishop...).

Leave Andrew Bolt alone.

+ the senate. As I said, the support was stronger in 2007, in 2010 it was less due to the global economic crisis that hit world economies.

I find it more amazing that you continue to stick your head in the sand when it comes to the fact that in her very next sentence she says she does not rule out an emmisions trading scheme which is what this package is.
