its quite clearly a girl. you can tell by looking at the cloaca
I thought she was a tranny?

did you know, that since girl coal pieces look so much like boy coal prices, there's a belief that there are no girl coals!! AND that coal just gets mined out of the ground!

if you haven't never seen lotr you won't get it.....

The direct action plan is just a plot to funnel more taxpayer moneys to the Liebral's big coal overlords
that's ludicrous. it doesnt even make electoral sense, how many votes would they get out of that. rather the direct action plan is an alternative to the carbon tax for the sake of having an alternative.
by voting lib, i trust them not to introduce this; not to do anything to stop emissions unless its part of an agreement that comprises eu, us, china, india
not against anything that improves quality of life eg less smog (often quoted as support for environmental measures) but global issues should be addressed globally, as they have gobal impacts

You're going to vote for someone expressly because you believe they are lying?

I support the carbon tax. It is good that lower income families will be reimbursed by the government and possibly get a bit more back.
The wealthy in this country earn too much while there are people struggling to pay their bills. It's not right.

Also, increasing the cost of carbon will encourage the use of alternative, GREEN, fuel sources. How can this be a bad thing?

We need alternative fuel sources. By discouraging the use of carbon as a primary fuel source it's is doing nothing other than encourage research into alternative, renewable energy.

The economic factor is primarily a personal opinion. I do not expect others to agree (quite the opposite) and would not expect it to be a deciding factor in the passing of any bills etc. You cannot deny the need to find alternative fuel sources.

if the government cared they would be investing epic proportions of money in non fossil fuel based energy production, like they are doing with the 40 billion dollar NBN. 40 billion dollars would buy you like 10,000 wind turbines installation cost included.

but no they are doing this because they want to stay in power cause the greens have a knife up their backs and they want fulfill their socialist agenda of taking money from middle - upper class people and giving it to poorer people.

peak oil and climate change are very real and are very dangerous, but this won't help

this is the opinion of several "the australian" columnists, so this is a general consensus on the right

It will make an an enormous impact upon our carbon footprint, what you've taken as a given there is just, plane wrong. It bears remembering that the ETS that Gillard has brought in might not have bipartisan support but the emission reduction targets do. The only MP's who do not support these carbon emmisions are the nationals and Bob Katter.
im talking about global temperatures (and hence temperatures in oz) which is the reason climate change is a big issue, as it will affect the earth's liveablility

you can ramble on about 'our carbon footprint' and our 'moral' obligations, however if you are a realist you should admit that no matter what Australia does on this issue, no noticeable difference is going to be made. as i've said before, the only place being an idealist will get you is with your neck in a noose.

abbott's plan is capped unlike gillard's, so it is less likely to reach the emissions targets
of course ideally, australia should be average in terms of pollution, to be responsible global citizens, but not lose competitiveness in the process

Ok then, you go with the consensus of the murdoch press, I'll go with the consensus of the scientific community.
