sorry, apparently in 2012 you can choose either one. i'm not sure what the differences are.

so you dont get assessed on it? It doesnt count towards your WAM?

It does count towards your WAM, you do have assessments. But use it mainly to meet people - because there's very little academic merit in the course.

oh okay. Its compulsory right? And do you know the difference between 1131 and 1121?

It is compulsory. When I was in first year last year, there was only SCIF1121. So I don't know about this new 1131 course.

Quick question. SCIF1011, is it pretty much the same course content as the other two listed above? I've got SCIF1011 lined up for this semester, and honestly don't know what to expect :/

scif1131 looks like something new this year, and adv maths/science kids get to choose between scif1121/1131. read the outline for both courses and see which one appeals to you the most.

i went to the o wek this year and im doing advanced science. at the lecture the guy recommended to do scif 1121 which is done in semester 1, but i was unable to do it due to my timetable and priorities, so im doing scif 1131. he said the that 1131 is more about the history and philosophy of science, and the 1121 varies depending on what module you choose such as chemistry, physics, psychology, etc
