For area of study, you need to answer questions on unseen texts in section 1 of paper 1, section 2 is the belonging story, and section 3 is an essay on your prescribed text for belonging so yes, you need a prescribed text.

Yes you do need related texts with the prescribed text. Minimum of 1.

There is a list of them online but you need to ask your school what your class will be doing.

^This. Yes, even though they may ask you for only one related text in the exam, its best to have 2 up your sleeve because they can ask you to write about 2 and even if they do ask you to write about 1, one of the two you've prepared may be better suited to the question they ask.

The prescribed text depends on what your school picked so you will have to ask your teacher. E.g. my school is doing Strictly Ballroom.

Standard and Advanced are treated the same for Paper 1. So, the prescribed text could be any of them.
