Seriously! 462!! That cannot be right!
The principal clearly stated that the rank of our school was amongst the top 100-150 schools
Looks like I have to change schools :\
Honestly guys, Does the rank of your school matter?
you believed the principal? what made you think that he/she was providing you with the right information?

Someone told me that low ranked school will inevitably hinder your chances of achieving a 99+ ATAR :(
If that is true it is just another example as to why UAI/ATAR is a broken system.

Nah Sanjoy I was just trolling you. Well from my understanding like, schools with that rank have their dux with an atar usually in the 80's. It's just how it works. It's because the lower ranked schools set easier tasks and tests so you think you're on top of the world when really you're at a disadvantage in oppose to those in higher ranked schools.

Umm, not necessarily! Our assignments are quite challenging..
+ this year the dux received an ATAR of above 99+

BTW, do your best in school and don't worry too much about school ranks. A school where 1 student gets a Band 6 in General Mathematics will outrank a school where every student gets 89 in high scaling subjects. One of the ranking systems is based on Band 6's in all subjects, so clearly the latter won't have a good rank, even though they will most likely out perform the former.

Sanjoy you might scrape 90's but it would be hard. You would need to come 1st in all you're subjects and maintain a consistent effort and study pattern for a shot at 90+

99+ out of a school that's ranked 462?
There's either one of these wrong
-either the school rank is fucking bullshit
-you're not telling the truth

I think it's the first

*sigh* clearly you didn't read my post above. The ranking system works off Band 6's. Sure one student can get 6 Band 6's and get 99+, but that may be the only 6 Band 6's in that school hence why the school is lowly ranked.

I did but I thought that was bullshit as well.
