If I had known the new 335i was only going to be starting at $90kish then I may have considered (i.e. most likely would have gone for) that over my C250 CDI which was in the high $80's once I optioned it up. That being said, I'm still pretty happy driving a diesel Benz which to me felt like a great car to drive and I didn't want to get the most common of luxury cars. That, and the BMW dealers always seem to annoy me for some reason.

Did you buy the latest C250 CDI? They look like great cars. I'm not too sure about a 4 cylinder diesel though....how does it sound?

As for the new 3 series, I love it. Exterior looks great....so sleek and sporty. I reckon the interior is a massive improvement over the old one and it has a nice range of powerful and economical engines.

Only downside is probably the price. All luxury euros seemed to be overpriced with options. I think if the driveway price included all the options, it would be good value.

Yes I bought the my12 c250 CDI (before it got COTY too). The sound isn't too bad but it obviously doesn't have te oomph of a turbo petrol or v8. Luckily it also has start stop so it turns engine off at traffic lights for nice peaceful motoring.

Agreed about the options list but I find nowadays the standard equipment is pretty good compared to ten years ago when even basics weren't included.

Typically it's also cheaper as a customer to buy either a pack (set of options bundled together) or the next model up (which includes those options as standard) than it is to cherry pick on top.

Feels quite nice to sit in the F30. The seats are so so, but the interior is top notch. Not sure if I dig the 'Sport' Line as much as I thought I would- the red strip feels a bit out of place and artificial, but everything else is nice.

I saw one of the road, jaw dropped. Looks even better in the metal than in the magazine.

Yeah the front end doesn't look as polarising but I don't think it's beautiful. It's handsome and modern but not beautiful or a classic like say the e46.

After thinking about it, I think even with the new 3 series, I would still pick my Benz. BMWs are cool/trendy/modern/sporty, but not classy.

Love Bmw's but i am not a fan of the new front ends on the 1,3 and 5 series at all. The only car i think that is an improve looks wise is the 6 series which looks great, the old one was a bit love or hate.

agreed. I still loved the look of the Bangle butt on the 6 series but the new one does look pretty darn good too. Not sure if I'd say either are timeless or classic designs though.
