Is 4U really that hard (1 Viewer)

I pretty much haven't done any study for 4U throughout the year and getting around 60-70/120 in trials - if I actually put some more effort in, I'd probably be able to push the E4 cut-off (~75/120).

60/120 raw gives a HSC mark of around 83-84 and 70/120 raw would probably give a HSC mark of around ~87

It's very demanding subject that requires alot of work.

4unit maths would be pretty easy without harder 3unit

but I'm on a High Distinction average at uni for my maths subjects so... no one can say anything

That being said however, if you intend to do maths at uni this isn't an exact indication of how well you will go. People who nailed 4U can crumble, and people who didn't get the greatest marks can excel.

90/120 is a bit high, I'd say capable students should be on 80+/120.

With that said, getting 65/120 and 80/120 isn't a giant difference after scaling...

I got 59/120 in the 2010 MX2 paper raw. That got moderated to 83.

I know someone who got 118/120 in the same paper. He got... 99, I believe?

Pretty sure it was in 2010!

In the 2010 HSC, a raw mark of ~111 would have just missed you out on a State Rank.

If I missed out on state rank by 1 raw mark, I'd cry and same if I wasn't rank 1 internally but got like, state rank-level exam mark...lol

Probably. It was just some random in the room I didn't know. Might've been trolling - but it was an Actuarial study group, so probably not.
