As per title, my school let us wear anything we wanted for our trials. I'm guessing it's not the same for the real deal?

Of course you have to wear your school uniform or they won't let you into the exams and you will get 0....

It's up to your school, but technically, the school is just a venue for the external exam, so you're under the authority of the Board of Studies, but they don't have school uniform rules (they let the schools decide - but you've graduated so you're in that grey area as to whether you're a current student of your school or not) thus you don't need to wear school uniform.

I think it depends on the school, not that they can actually enforce it anyway. I did the HSC last year and our school dosnt require us to wear a uniform in the first place, so we all just turned up in normal clothes :p

I thought it was compulsory so the supervisors could verify that you were actually a student, not just some crazy tutor or something.

Uniform is not a method of identifying if a student goes to school or not. I could rock up in your school uniform and sit your exam... so I must be a student at your school? I think not.

It is an external exam, other students from different schools or TAFE can sit the exam at your exam venue - not everyone must be from your school - TAFE doesn't have uniform, so uniform isn't going to verify them.

They have photo identification to verify you and your student number (as there will be a card with your number at your desk, if they haven't changed anything for this year).

For trials we had to wear school uniform or otherwise the teachers would give us a uniform detention afterwards.
man it would've been so much easier in casual clothes! Our uniform is so uncomfortable and it doesn't even keep us warm

At my school. If you aren't in uniform, you can't do the exam :(

It's compulsory at our school that said, I don't know if they'd turn you away.

A school up the road from mine can wear whatever they want, alot of people rock in pyjama bottoms.

I wish I could at least wear sports uniform and not our formal summer, be way more comfortable.

Also the school uniform is not a good way to tell people from the school. One year at my school (back ages ago) people came into the SC exams in school uniform but not from our school and stole $700 worth of electronics out of the bag storage room.
