haha yeah, I'm only "passionate" about eco. nothing else interests me that much (maybe 3u and bio)
btw, what are you aiming for in bio? (I'm going for 90-93)(Yes, Ill start studying for bio when I finish english.. fml)

At least 89 and I'll be a happy man =)

I've lost some passion for maths but for biology it has flourished.

I have ONLY studied for the eye because that's where my trials dotpoint was up to for the test...
so I'm really screwed for the others...
Yeah did a question on cataracts and myperoia/hyper
so if hearing aids and implants are part of it, then I'm gonna study it lol
I hate drawing the diagrams because I'm so bad at them!

There's still time. Go go go!

Does anyone think stuff about rods and cones, rhodopsin stuff will come up?
Yes, almost definitely.

^OMG pedigrees are confusing, I cant determine whether they're sex-linked or not!

Yeah, that and I never really entirely understand meiosis.

Does anyone have any tips or so? These parts will be my downfall.

You guys may already know most of this, but with the meiosis part, what I understand is that it in order to maintain the constant chromosome number from one generation to the next, the mechanism meiosis occurs to halve the chromosome number when gametes are produced.
It has the role of:
- mixing paternal and maternal chromosomes
- mixing paternal and maternal genes when crossing over
(So basically, during meiosis crossing over occurs)
^ that introduces genetic variation

Hope that slightly helped, there's so much more to meiosis than that though

Actually, I think I understand meiosis now.

I will post up a simplified version of it - I'll also check for errors so yeah.

I'm predicting that it should mainly be on the brain. The brain hasn't been used since 2007, so thats what I am going off. However, we can't be 100% sure.

can some one help me with the brain?
i barely know anything about it.

i know that the main parts are medulla oblongata, cerebrum, cerebellum but i don't really know their roles.
also the practical on the modelling of the human brain
and the parts of the brain involved int sight, sound and speech processing please..

help would definitely be appreciated :)

You don't necessarily need to know the roles of the medulla oblongata and cerebellum but more so their location and their structure.

BUT! To be able to identify the areas that are responsible for sound, sight and vision, it is necessary.

So these specific areas are all found within the cerebrum.

There are 4 lobes in the cerebrum:

Frontal lobe - This contains Broca's area and is responsible for the articulation and delivery of speech. ie Speech processing
Parietal lobe - Interprets written language (I think the other 3 are more important and this doesn't really fall into the 3 categories)
Temporal lobe - Contains Wernicke's area which is used to interpret language, whilst other areas in this lobe are used for listening to sounds. ie Sound
Occipital lobe - Interprets information from the retina. ie Vision

Unfortunately not, I just had to revise the content on a constant basis and I'm finally getting the hang of it. You can still cram but obviously it isn't as effective :/ (unless you're pretty gifted)The very least I can offer you is support, so if you're feeling unsure of something, feel free to post here or PM me and I will help you ASAP =)
