Hey guys, well ive been really lazy and never used to right down cm, and shit at the end of questions my questions are

1) When do we use cm,m or units and when are they ^3, and ^2 LOL
2) In Applications of calculus, do we have to put like for eg seconds/per minute and shit would we get marked down if we dont.

1) Read the question.

If we're finding Area, then obviously our solution is say cm^2. Would it make sense to have an area of 2cm^3, or a volume of 2cm^2?

If no units are given, then we use 'units'.

If metres are given, we (usually) answer in metres, unless otherwise specified.

2) Write down units.

It is actually quite important that you write down the units.

Not just because you have always been told to write down units, but it is also quite possible for them to put a trick in the question.

e.g. they might get you to work out some derivative with metres as the units (e.g. dy/dt = (6000t +200)m/s ) , and then in the next part they could ask you for a speed in km/hr (or km/second).

You should always check the units of any rate equation they give you (or any equation they give you).
