Well, if your final grade (assessment wise) is a fail (below 49), then you will fail. But if it's 50 and above, then you would pass the course.
Some courses automatically fail you if you miss a certain number of tutorials. I think FINS1612 had it when I did it.

Yeah, well for the most part, tutors and lecturers don't seem to care. I wonder why FINS1612 cared about it... :O

you bastard ;). I actually wish my degree was longer than 3 years (b comm) so i have longer to make up for my shitty marks this year.

well i am technically enrolled in b comm/b eco. so i could keep the eco part and stay a year longer. but is it worth it?

Arts is a joke. LOL, as if they take attendance seriously. Arts lectures and tutorials have the lowest attendance rate of all disciplines.

lol are you still doing actuarial? I'm happy I didn't do straight comm as well. was too stupid and didn't know how crucial internships are. now I have time to apply for them next year =)

and idk, keep it for now, I suppose. if, for whatever reason, you want to stay in uni for a longer period of time, you can =P

nah am dropping it. A few actuarial second/third years said the workload in actuarial is "10 times that of finance" lol so i know i wont be able to handle it.

I remember my English lecture put mandatory attendance.

The lecture was mostly full-ish for about a week, and then I think most people did the "soz, have work" excuse and got out of it. :p

Totally agree. They're either freaks of nature, they love calculating stuff, or they've simply done other Finance courses before and know all the theory behind FINS1613. Which means that they all they have to do is learn how to use formulas. Lucky b*stards.

1613 is easy.

3635 and 3636 is where it starts getting SLIGHTLY hard.

The heat really turns up if you do a mathematics degree with statistics or quantative risk major.

FINS1613 is one of the most straight forward courses in commerce. I don't understand why you guys keep complaining on how hard it is. Easily managed a HD without prior FINS courses and with minimal effort.
