If we're asked questions that involve radians. For e.g
solve sinx=1/2 can i do the answers using degrees and convert it to radians at the end.


E.g question 4a and c 2007

yes, I always work in degrees as it is more intuitive.

related angle = sin^(-1) (1/2) = 30degrees

Sin is positive in 1st and 2nd quad

x= 30, 180-30

x=30, 150

= pi/6 , 5pi/6

As long as your final answer is in the form they specify (which is given by the range they want you to solve over, e.g. 0<=x<=360 means give answer in degrees, 0<=x<=2pi means give answer in radians) you get full marks.
